Are you starting a new website? Have you thought about designing and building it yourself, but are not sure if you have the skills to actually be able to do this?

If so, you are probably already thinking about choosing a professional website builder to do it for you. How, though, do you know if you have chosen the right one.

Look for experience -- The first thing you will want to look for when choosing a website builder is the amount of experience they have had. Have they been designing websites for a while, or have they limited experience? Even if a website builder has great designs, it still often pays to choose one with more experience simply because the problems you may face will probably be less.

Look for examples of successful website builds -- Any website builder you are considering hiring should have a portfolio of websites they have designed in the past.

Spend time looking at all these sites. Not only will you have an idea of what they can do, you will also be able to see some of the features used in them and decide if they are appropriate for your new site.

Ask lots of questions -- Before you hire a website builder, be sure to ask any questions you need to ask so that you are sure the company you are hiring understands what you want. After all, there would be nothing worse than thinking you are going to get the perfect site only to find out you hate what they came up with.

Be prepared to give feedback -- When you do hire a company and they start a design, remember the first design is not always the finished product. Be prepared to give feedback and ask for changes, so you can be sure to get exactly what you want.
